Is le Location field in Active Directory used for anything autre than listing où objects are physically located?

Je suis interested si this is juste a user friendly field to help people find printers etc. ou si a change to this field will have certains autre effect.

Exactly that - le physical location of le object. Changing it ne va pas affect anything else sauf si an external system uses ou updates it. Par exemple, in large enterprises, attributes like this could be populated depuis et synchronised avec an asset tracking database using an IdM system like MS ILM/FIM.
