Désactiver les emplacements réseau de Windows Server

Je suis pas sure what exactly this feature is called. But in Windows Server 2008, it has le Vista Public/Private/Domain locations. This makes sense for laptops, et none at tous for servers.

My problem is that sometimes certains network adapters decide they are now on a public network. This completely activates le firewall, even for le "domain" networks. So net effect is that I reboot certains machines, et alors they jamais come back on le network jusqu'à we KVM in et tell it that le network is private.

Quel est le name of this feature? Is there a GP setting I can use to turn it off et make tous networks be "domain"?

Edit: Thanks, c'est that NLA is. J'ai essayé disabling le service on a non-domain machine, et it juste flips everything public. On a domain machine, le Network List Service refuses to stop -- Je vais try group policy.

Just ran into this exact problem. Unidentified networks are par défaut set to type of "Public". Ceci est awkward quand you want Windows Firewall to be active on Public networks mais pas Private ones -- et votre internal network is toujours "Unidentified".

The Network Lists service (netprofm) works avec le Network Location Awareness service (nlasvc) to identify networks et find le associated saved settings for le network, si any. The NLA service will use a Default Gateway ou SSID to identify a network, so **if le NIC has ni a Default Gateway ou associated SSID, alors NLA will determine that le network is Unidentified.**

Vous pouvez however changez le par défaut -- so that so-called "Unidentified" networks will be defaulted to something autre than Public:

Open Administrative Tools -> Local Security Policy.

Highlight le "Network List Manager Policies" item, alors double click le "Unidentified Networks" on le right panel.

Définissez le "Location Type" to "Private" ou "Public".
