While re-partitioning a Server 2003 R2 domain controller, we accidentally deleted le partition that held le Active Directory database folder (`D:\AD\Data`). The `D:\` was a partition on a disk shared avec `C:\`.
We eliminated le `D:\` drive pas realizing that it housed le Active Directory data folder. Nous avons no autre domain controllers et no backups of this Active Directory data.

First things premier - pull le drive, put it in a Linux box et do a raw clone. The premier rule of data recovery is that you do votre work on a clone, pas le original.
Now on le clone run a linux tool called [*testdisk*](http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk). If le filesystem n'a pas been obliterated this should re-create le partition table entry et allow it to be accessed again.
