[How do I find if there is a rogue DHCP server on my Network?](https://serverfault.com/questions/8526/how-do-i-find-if-there-is-a-rogue-dhcp-server-on-my-network)

Je sais this is a serious long shot, mais here we go.

In le past week ou so, for users connected to a particular switch in our network (there are four dumb switches tous connected, et it seulement affects SOME, pas all, users on le one switch) are getting DHCP addresses depuis a rogue DHCP server.

J'ai physically checked chaque cable plugged into le switch in question to assurez-vous que none of them have a router ou wifi point attached to it. Je sais le IP of le DHCP server, mais I cannot ping it, et it does pas have a web interface.

Does anyone have tout suggestions on what I can do to locate it ou shut it down? Unfortuantely tous le switches are unmanaged, et as mentioned, il y a no physical device (that I can find) plugged in to anything.

C'est getting critical, parce que c'est screwing up le PXE boot of a whole bunch of thin clients.

Essayez de [nmap](http://nmap.org) it using le -O to detect le operating system, may give you a better idea of what server it is? Also running a standard port scan might help figure out what it is
