This post relates to an [earlier thread](https://superuser.com/questions/1044634/windows-update-error-80244019-after-long-time-searching-for-updates?noredirect=1#comment1461649_1044634) of mine to fix a problème avec Microsoft Mise à jour (MSU) during which I had to re-installer MSU under Windows 7, 64bit, SP1. J'ai installé [this Microsoft update](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3102810) to fix the problème.
Cependant, dans le processus of fixing the problème I had également unchecked the setting "installer mises à jour for other Microsoft products" dans le MSU setting, as is shown below in highlighted yellow [malheureusement in German, but the idea devrait être clear]. This capture d'écran is depuis le Office online help where it explains that the checkbox devrait être checked to find Office mises à jour.
Cependant, I unchecked the box avant l'installation the MSU mise à jour as an attempt to solve my original problème. I planned to check it again later.

This all looks very strange to me. Could it be that c'est a bug dans le MSU mise à jour from November 2015?

**Modification** : J'ai trouvé an [old thread](https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/68fc8092-8480-4c10-ba53-f1a2d23654b2/ie-11-blocks-access-to-microsoft-update-service?forum=ieitprocurrentver) which discusses that when the link is opened in IE11 avec compatibility view ensuite it offers to installer MS Mise à jour. Devrais-je do this? it seems starnge to me given Je viens de installé an MSU mise à jour dating Nov 2015? See capture d'écran. Plus this seems to be a **VISTA** help page.

J'ai trouvé an answer to my own question. Je suis running Office 2010 ("version 14.x"). To activer mises à jour again proceed as follows:
- Close all running Microsoft Office components.
- Open Regedit
- Allez à HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\General
- Modify the "ShownFirstRunOptIn" valeur from 1 to 0
- Launch a Microsoft Office component, it will give you the option to téléchargez le mises à jour, assurez-vous you sélectionner it.
- Done. Si vous go back to "Windows Mise à jour", ensuite "Change Paramètres", vous allez see the "Microsoft Mise à jour" and "Software notifications" sections are disponible again (until the Microsoft Mise à jour check box is unchecked again).
The clé in step 4 might have slightly different names across office versions. In my source the clé was called ShownOptIn under office version 12.
Following these steps également MSU shows the manquant checkbox again and it finds all mises à jour including mises à jour for non-office products (e.g. Silverlight)
