Depuis upgrading to Windows 8.1 this weekend, the Search fonctionnalité became pretty useless. When I start typing, it sends my CPU usage to 100% (Gestionnaire des tâches shows Windows Explorer as the main offender), and results are pretty lent. The funny thing is, J'ai un i7 avec 8 logical cores, and c'est one du rare times a single programme en fait manages to utilize all dum at once. :)
Some searches which a fonctionné earlier (e.g. typing "périphériques" would bring out a "Devices and imprimantes" link for the Panneau de configuration) également ne sont pas shown anymore if "Tout" is sélectionné for searching. Si je sélectionner "Paramètres" dans le drop-down, ensuite the "Devices and paramètres" link is shown, but it takes around 3s for the results to show up making the whole thing useless.
J'ai essayé disabling the Windows Search service completely (although c'est not the one peaking the CPU), but it n'a pas help. Également désactivé Bing web search integration in PC paramètres, but it n'a pas change anything (apart depuis le web results maintenant being omitted depuis le lent search).
J'ai found a couple of similar threads online, but they ne offer any solutions:

Quelqu'un a-t-il a similar problème, and possibly a solution to this problème?
Depuis I've accustomed to hitting the Windows bouton and typing immediately to start my apps, Je suis considering two obvious solutions:
- Reinstall plain old Windows 8 again
- Installer a third-pary Start menu app avec a fonctionnel search functionality
Windows 8.1 recherche charm lent, avec explorer.exe CPU usage at 100%

I've analyzed a xperf trace that an utilisateur gave me on technet, and the **fix is to add the AppData dossier**, which is part of your Userprofile, **back vers le Search-Index**.
