I’ve read that Patch Tuesday is the second Tuesday of every month, so I could picture the code in Windows Mise à jour sur le client machine being set to contact the company servers so Microsoft ne have to find all the Windows ordinateurs- all the Windows ordinateurs come vers lem on that day.

But if there’s a critical mise à jour on some random day like the third Wednesday du month so critical that everyone really needs it as soon as possible, how does Microsoft initiate a connection to each applicable Windows ordinateur connected vers le Internet? Most people have non-static IP addresses, I’d suspect, and Je ne pense pas most internet service providers are keeping databases of customer ordinateurs including what OS the ordinateur they’re connecting vers le Internet is running.

Microsoft ne have to do that – the ordinateurs themselves have Windows Mise à jour running and check for disponible mises à jour every day.

The Patch Tuesday is just a convention, for utilisateurs to be able to installer all accumulated mises à jour at once, and système administrators to prepare.
