I want that my Vivaldi Browser has another Icon on the Taskbar.
What I did and what worked on Windows 10 and on another Computer with Windows 11 24H2:
Create Shortcut to Vivaldi and change icon on shortcut:
Pin this shortcut to Taskbar (Restart Windows Explorer) and start Vivaldi Browser:
On my current win11 24H2 Machine it does NOT work and Vivaldi gets opened as an additional taskbar icon with the default image:
When I right click on the Icon of the running Vivaldi Browser Instance and go to Properties it looks like this:
On another Windows 11 24H2 machine (The same image was used to install both machines)
it works and also the right click properties on the running instance look different:
If you look closely to the computer where it works it does not open a second taskbar icon but instead open the Browser in the taskbar icon that was pinned with the custom icon.
Also in Properties you can see the “Shortcuts” Tab that is missing in Picture 2. > 2.
Can someone help me?
For me it looks like that on the working PC Windows opens the Pinned Shortcut as a “Shortcut”
and on the not working PC it opens it as the “Vivaldi.exe” itself.
