Checking HDD drives for physical erreurs - scanning sectors

J’utilise Windows 11 Pro and wanting to check my nouveau 4TB SATA3 Disque dur (single NTFS partition of usable 3.63 TB) plugged by Natec Kangaroo Dual. The drive shows up correctly as a ejectable périphérique.

Je veux test this périphérique avant I start using it for my fichiers. Avant J’ai utilisé HDTune free for scanning HDDs for sector erreurs, but it ne support drives bigger than 2TB. The trial version of HDTune Pro supports 4TB, but it ne allow you to vérifiez le whole disk for the erreurs. I’m not willing to pay ca. 30USD for the Pro license to do one-time check.

Is there another a way to conduct a full scan for physical erreurs and problèmes of a 4TB drive?

As @Silbee mentioned dans le comments, the way to go about it in Windows 11 is:

  • Run ligne de commande (cmd) as administrator

  • From there, run chkdsk command avec /R option (e.g. chkdsk G: /r)

In previous versions par défaut disk checker (GUI) on Windows had an explicit option (a checkbox) to run in-depth scan, maintenant (from what Je peux gather) c’est seulement disponible in ligne de commande when running chkdsk.
