Windows Mise à jour waking machine from hibernation

One of my family members has a Windows (Vista) machine which is waking itself up from hibernation in an annoying fashion. Some investigation suggests that Windows Mise à jour is the guilty party - it ne happen every day, but when it does c'est toujours at the time set for Windows Mise à jour to installer mises à jour at, and the WindowsUpdate.log fichier says that c'est woken the machine afin de installer mises à jour.

Je soupçonne Je peux fix this by changing it to not installer mises à jour automatiquement, but I'd really rather that Je n'ai pas have to. I would prefer if there was some option to simply not wake the machine for it, but Je ne peux pas see such a thing.

Quelqu'un sait-il comment stop this from happening? Il y a quite a few mentions of this kind of thing sur le internet but Je n'ai pas found any real answers yet.

Si vous ne peut pas use the stratégie de groupe editor, use Éditeur du registre à la place.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU

(vous pouvez need to créer the WindowsUpdate and AU clés) and créez un DWORD valeur named AUPowerManagement. Set this valeur to 0.

Use of this registry clé to configurer Automatic Mises à jour is documented although this particular valeur is not. That's probably just an oversight on Microsoft's part.
