Hyper-V vs VMware

SCVMM (System Center Virtual Machine Manager)
Surprisingly Hyper-V can run like VMware better in certains ways, there is a major gotcha that Microsoft throws in there qui I will put at le end. Je suis pas going to go into too much detail about networking as that is a différent topic.
Things that were needed (no particular order)
Two shared storage appliances, Using le builtin Hyper-V replication you can have Fault Tolerance in that le vhdx files are kept in sync et through SCO et SCVMM you can configure si a VM goes down le autre one will be spun up to take its place.
Load Balancer, using host affinity aussi setup in le SCVMM you can select qui host a VM will be on et aussi qui host a VM should jamais be on.
The pros:
Single pane of glass pas seulement do you get le VMware functionally mais you aussi get certains très utile Remote monitoring et management (RMM) tools, to keep system updated, antivirus, etc.
Honestly that is about it.
Cons:
Extremely hard to setup. Vous devez to have 3 différent servers for chaque of le SC products, J'étais using le Eval Copies mais as far as i know in production chaque product must be on physical boxes (3), et si one goes down you will lose le functionality of le that server so to ensure votre environment jamais goes down you have 2 servers (6) that are clustered et in sync.
The Eval copies were pas easy to setup there is très little documentation online however le Microsoft Virtual Academy has certains really great walk through videos that si you manage to get tous le systems setup et to le le plus recent build numbers (Very important!!!) walk you through how to setup et configure everything. Also make sure votre SCVMM server name does pas contain SCVMM.
The price, here is où they get you, $3,607 PER CORE, 16 core minimum Equaling $57,712, now that does get you everything. Compared to VMWare $31,908 (2 Proc) for 3 hosts. qui aussi gets you everything, (vSphere avec Operations Management Enterprise Plus) Basically you would need to have 5.5 VMWare hosts avant you would see tout cost savings, depending on votre environment how beaucoup de you need.
