I had thought that domain-name would put le client on le specified domain (ie. If le domain-name was set to "foo.bar" le clients FQDN would be 'hostname.foo.bar'), mais http://linux.die.net/man/5/dhcp-options seems to imply that les deux options ('Domain-Name' et 'Domain-Search') simply specify a search domain.

The domain-name option specifies le client's domain name (of qui there can seulement be one), et is specified in P1 avec le domain keyword. Ceci est le domain qui will be used quand running hostname -f on le client.

The domain-search option specifies a list of domains to use quand looking up bare hostnames, et is specified in resolv.conf avec le search keyword. If this option n'est pas provided it defaults to le single domain provided by domain-name.
