C:\Windows\system32\config\system is a registry database file. Maybe it was corrupted.

You try this way

cd %windir%\system32\config

ren software.001 software

copy the file from C:\Windows\System32\config\RegBack\system to C:\Windows\System32\config\
and restart pc to check

If it still have problem then copy C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\RegBack\software to C:\Windows\system32\config
