<p>Press the windows key as noted to go into uefi.</p>
<p>Boot configuration. Turn off secure boot. Make sure boot from usb devices is on.<br>
Boot order.<br>
Make sure usb is top of list.</p>
<p>When you boot from the surface recovery usb drive, it’ll usually ask (from memory) to press a key if you want to boot it (otherwise, it’ll try to boot the broken windows).</p>
<p>When the surface recovery boots, let it wipe the entire drive and install fresh windows.</p>
