<p>I got an ISO of Windows XP Professional avec SP3 integrated from dreamspark. I burned it onto a DVD, and installé onto an old ordinateur of mine.</p>
<p>The first thing I did après installation was installez le graphics pilotes as Je ne peux pas stand the extreme lag when I drag windows around. Ensuite I scanned for mises à jour in IE, but it hung for a while. J’ai vérifié Gestionnaire des tâches, and found out that one du <code>svchost</code>’s was hogging the CPU.</p>
<p>Later, J’ai utilisé SysInternals Process Explorer to vérifiez le services associated avec that instance of <code>svchost</code>. Il y avait a list, but Automatic Mises à jour was one dum. I stopped that service, and CPU went down instantly. J’ai essayé reinstalling également (twice…), but the same results are produced every time. This n’a pas happened avant, ever…</p>
<p>J’ai essayé l’installation Windows Mise à jour Agent using the <code>/wuforce</code> parameter, rebooted, and rien…</p>
<p>J’ai aussi tried l’installation this <a href="http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=927891" rel="noopener nofollow ugc">hotfix</a>, but apparemment SP3 déjà took care of that…</p>
<p>J’ai aussi read somewhere that c’est caused by SP3 not l’installation properly. So J’ai essayé downloading the ISO for XP that ne have any SPs integrated, but I n’était pas allowed parce que I déjà have a copy of XP in DreamSpark, and it ne let me add the one sans SPs vers le cart. Ceci est as far as I went</p>

<p><strong>UPDATE 2:</strong></p>
<p>I gave up and installé Windows 7 Professional sans Service Packs. <code>svchost</code> ate up CPU again, but seulement for a minute, and ensuite Windows Mise à jour showed about 150 mises à jour I’m manquant. Something’s wrong avec Windows XP and Je ne sais pas what… Windows 7 fonctionne better so Je suppose I’ll just stick avec this ensuite…</p>
